“Stargaze” to be held in Chiefland, Florida

March 8 - March 10

It has been several years since our club members have attended a “Stargaze.” At our recent Board Meeting, the subject was once again brought up. The “Chiefland Astronomy Group” has a 5-acre-site just south of Chiefland, FL. The site advertises a SQM reading of 21.4 overhead at night. The Membership fee for the twelve “New Moon Weekends” is $45 for the first year and $30 for every year after. For those of you who remember attending the club “Stargaze,” you know we paid $40 for just one weekend of observing. We are considering making the trip to Chiefland for our “Stargaze” on March 8th, 9th and 10th. There is a “Quality Inn” a mile away and places to eat. There will probably be other amateur astronomers at the site for us to mingle with. Please visit the following sites to learn more about this observing location. It would be great if we could resurrect the club “Stargaze” in 2019. If we give it a try, we can always attend another observing session in Chiefland when the weather accommodates during our planned new-moon observing weekends. Each weekend observing includes Fri., Sat. and Sun. night observing. https://www.astromart.com/classifieds/astronot-classifieds/real-estate/show/ 5-acre-site-at-chiefland-astronomy-village fallstarparty.com/
